Hey everyone! It’s ETA Prime here, and today we’re taking a very special look at the world of mini PCs. Yes, you read correctly—we’re going to test the Xyber XPC Cybertruck Mini PC in more detail. This tiny PC is meant to look like the well-known Tesla Cybertruck. Upon initially learning about this, I believed it to be an April Fool’s joke. However, it’s true and will soon be available on Indiegogo. Let’s investigate the mechanisms that drive this small beast!

Unboxing and Design

The Cybertruck Mini PC immediately draws attention with its eye-catching design. The chassis is not exactly stainless steel, but it is composed of aluminum to resemble the tough appearance of the Tesla Cybertruck. The four doors that open and the functioning front and back lights provide a unique touch. The attention to detail is astounding. Even the tailgate swings down to expose a surprising integrated ramp.

The IO connectors—power input, a full-size HDMI port, two USB Type-C ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack—are visible when the tailgate is opened. Additionally, the truck has an exhaust fan that is visible through the grate and a USB port on the bottom. Though they’re absent from this model, it appears that speakers were part of the original idea.

Internal Components

Because there are so many screws to remove, taking apart the casing of this mini PC is quite the chore. Once inside, though, it’s evident that Xyber did more than just cram a tiny PC into a Cybertruck chassis. What you’re actually looking at is a bespoke motherboard configuration, which is noticeably longer than the motherboards used in most mini PCs.

An M.2 SSD with 1TB of pre-installed storage, a Ryzen 7 8845 HS processor, and a dual-fan cooling system are all found inside. The motherboard has a lot in common with a laptop, including an extra M.2 port and a battery connector. This device has 32GB of upgradeable RAM pre-installed. The RAM is dual-channel DDR5 operating at 5600 MHz.

Performance and Testing

The Cybertruck Mini PC has front and rear lights that turn on when it is powered on. When Windows boots up, it is evident that everything is set up smoothly. Installing apps and games, as well as updating drivers, took some time.

Performance and Testing xyber xpc cybertruck mini pc

The Ryzen 7 8845 HS processor performs admirably for both everyday chores and gaming. A CPU-Z stress test may push the TDP up to 54 watts, which is fair for a device this compact. Under severe stress, the fan does spin up, but the temperature stays comfortable.

Using the 32GB of installed RAM, I also changed the BIOS settings to boost the dedicated GPU memory for the Radeon 780M from 3GB to 8GB. Performance should be enhanced by this adjustment, particularly in game scenarios.

4K Video Playback

Let’s start by discussing 4K video playback. In order to monitor performance, I tried this using Chrome with “Stats for Nerds” enabled. My expectations for the Ryzen 7 8845 HS mini PC were high, and it lived up to my expectations. With only one frame dropped during the first load, 4K video streaming from YouTube or an external disk was fluid and characteristic of high-definition video. This little powerhouse is ideal for streaming or watching high-definition content because it can easily handle 4K playback.

Benchmarking Results

Now let’s look at some benchmark results for the Xyber XPC Cybertruck Mini PC. It seems good!

Performance and Testing xyber xpc cybertruck mini pc

  • Geekbench 6: The little PC received a single-core score of 2573 and a multi-core score of 12,488. These results are exactly what we would anticipate from other tiny PCs with Ryzen 7 8845 HS processors at this wattage.
  • 3DMark Night Raid: With a score of 26,976, this benchmark demonstrated excellent integrated graphics performance.
  • The Cybertruck Mini PC scores well in the 3DMark Time Spy test, scoring 3,263, which is comparable to other devices using the same processor at a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of 54 watts.

Gaming Performance

Let’s start playing games now. I put this tiny PC to the test with a range of games to see how it performs:

  • Cyberpunk 2077: The mini PC started out averaging about 66 frames per second while running at 1080p on low settings with FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) set to Performance. On the other hand, performance was much improved by turning on AMD’s Frame Generation technology, which raised the average to roughly 92 FPS. By adding more frames where necessary, this improvement makes the entire gaming experience better.
  • Fallout 4: The game ran nicely at 1080p on medium settings, averaging about 72 frames per second. For a consistent experience, it would be best to lock the frame rate at 60 frames per second, but if your display supports it, the mini PC can manage greater frame rates.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: The tiny PC averaged about 61 frames per second at 1080p on low settings with FSR set to Balanced. For an integrated GPU, this is respectable, although performance might be further enhanced by reducing the resolution or changing the settings.
  • Horizon Forbidden West: Because this game requires more power from the hardware, the frame rate was tolerable but not remarkable at 900p on low settings with FSR set to Balanced. Even with FSR set to Performance, performance might not be optimal, but the frame rate could be increased.

Conclusion

All things considered, the Cybertruck micro PC from Xyber XPC turns out to be a useful and distinctive addition to the micro PC market. The Ryzen 7 8845 HS is capable of handling 4K video playback, outperforming other processors in benchmarks, and handling gaming with minor configuration changes. Its unique Cyber Truck-inspired design and strong performance make it an appealing choice for enthusiasts, especially those who value the Cybertruck aesthetic, even though it might not be the ideal fit for every user or gamer.
