ETA Prime is back with another thrilling accessory review, everyone! We’re going to be discussing the Cyberized 65W HDMI Dock GaN USB Type-C Charger with 4K HDMI Output today, which is a crucial device for improving your mobile gaming. This gadget has something unique to offer, regardless of whether you’re using a MacBook, Windows laptop, Android phone, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, or Nintendo Switch.

What’s in the Box?

The Cyberized 65W GaN Charger is a multipurpose dock with HDMI output in addition to being a charger. What you get is this:

  • HDMI-output 65W GaN charger: This small gadget can give up to 65W of power via USB-C, which makes it compatible with a variety of devices.
  • A keyboard and mouse or other accessory can be connected to either of the two full-size USB ports.
  • Good Carrying Case: For convenient transportation.
  • Extra Rubber Bands: To ensure that everything is tucked in neatly.
  • USB Type-C Cable: For data transfer and charging.

Transform Your Steam Deck with This 65W HDMI Dock & Built-in SSD: Gaming & Productivity Upgraded!

Three hues are available for selection: orange, white, or black. On Amazon, the entry-level model costs $118.99 without any extra storage. There are models with 256GB or 1TB SSDs if you’re interested in integrated SSD choices; these cost $198.99 and $139.99, respectively. Although the one shown here lacks internal storage, it’s ideal if you already own external disks.

Build and Performance

Now let’s test this dock’s performance. The device has two USB 3.0 connections, a full-size HDMI port, and a 65W GaN charger. Verifying that the device generates 65 watts of power was a vital test. Using a wattmeter, the reading was between 55 and 56 watts, which is normal considering the losses from connections and wires.

I put it to the test using the 100W-capable ROG Ally. The ROG Ally was able to run in high-performance mode thanks to the dock, proving that it is compatible with gadgets that need full power.

Connecting and Using the Dock

For the ROG Ally

  • Configuration: Attach the USB-C to the ROG Ally and the HDMI to a monitor. The USB ports enable the keyboard and mouse to function without a hitch.
  • Resolution & Refresh Rate: The dock can handle up to 60Hz at 1440p. You can get 120Hz for 1080p, which is excellent for gaming.

For Steam Deck

Upgrade Your Setup: 65W HDMI Dock with Built-in SSD for Faster Load Times & Expanded Storage!

  • Configuration: Utilize the Steam Deck as a complete desktop configuration by connecting it to the dock.
  • Refresh rate and resolution were automatically adjusted to 1440p at 60Hz by the dock after it identified the display. Depending on your requirements, 1080p @ 120Hz is also possible.

USB Speeds and Storage

The USB 3.0 speeds that the dock offers are really good. I used CrystalDiskMark and an external SSD to test it. It is a dependable option for saving games or editing files, as evidenced by the results that demonstrated satisfactory speeds. For most purposes, it’s more than sufficient, even though it’s not as quick as a straight USB-C 3.2 connection.

Display Options and Performance

There are two options available for the Cyberized 65W HDMI Dock GaN Charger: 1440p at 60Hz or 1080p at 120Hz. These resolutions are more than sufficient for a seamless and aesthetically pleasant experience in docked mode, especially considering the Steam Deck’s capabilities. At 1440p, the Steam Deck user interface looks amazing, and the available resolutions support both detailed graphics and fluid gameplay.

Revolutionize Your Gaming Setup with a 65W HDMI Dock & SSD for Steam Deck & ROG Ally!

Remember that the Steam Deck can only receive 45 watts of charging power. Thankfully, there is more than enough power provided by the Cyberized dock to keep your smartphone charged while it is in use.

Samsung Dex Mode

How nicely this dock functions with Samsung Dex mode is one of its most notable qualities. It worked flawlessly when I tested it with the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 Ultra entered Dex mode—which offered a desktop-like interface on a larger display—as soon as it was connected to the dock. Although you have the option to mirror the display, the desktop interface is quite impressive.

Portable Powerhouse: 65W HDMI Dock with SSD for Ultimate Gaming & Productivity on Any Device!

I had no trouble using a keyboard and mouse with the Galaxy S24 Ultra thanks to the dock’s USB connections. Right out of the box, the device supported 1440p at 60Hz in Dex mode; if necessary, you could also use 1080p.

Versatility and Convenience

The Cyberized 65W HDMI Dock GaN Charger is a great addition to your electronics collection overall. It is a little device that integrates the features of a USB hub, HDMI output, and charger into one. This all-in-one solution can streamline your setup if you regularly carry a dock or USB hub.

Although the regular $118.99 model offers great value for its features, individuals who are thinking about getting the model with internal storage may find it worth it for the extra convenience. You are welcome to do a speed test and post the findings in the comments if you choose to purchase the version with SSD storage!
